The 2:3 aspect ratio is the optimal format for Pinterest pins and portrait-oriented photo prints. On Pinterest, the 2:3 ratio takes up the ideal amount of space in the masonry grid without being truncated.
Pinterest recommends 1000x1500 pixels for standard pins, which is exactly a 2:3 ratio. This vertical format performs significantly better than square or landscape pins because it occupies more visual space in the feed.
With ImgTools, upload your image, select the Crop tab, and choose the 2:3 preset. For Pinterest content, position your subject in the upper portion of the frame since the bottom may be partially obscured by the pin title overlay.
After cropping, resize to 1000x1500 for standard Pinterest pins. For higher quality pins on retina displays, 2000x3000 works well but produces larger files.
