Twitter (X) header images should be 1500x500 pixels with a 3:1 aspect ratio. This banner image appears at the top of your profile and is one of the key visual elements that defines your brand presence on the platform.
The header image is partially obscured by your profile picture on the left side, so avoid placing critical elements in the lower-left area. The safe zone for important content is roughly the right two-thirds of the banner area.
To create a Twitter header with ImgTools, upload your source image, crop to a 3:1 ratio, and resize to 1500x500. For photographic headers, select a section with good visual flow that works even with the profile picture overlay.
Save as JPEG at 85% quality or PNG for text-heavy designs. Keep the file under 5 MB. Twitter compresses header images, so uploading at the exact recommended size minimizes additional compression.
